Le Magnou is a traditional French house, set in the heart of Vienne, just a few hundred metres from the lovely Charente River. It offers the perfect holiday in a part of Rural Southwest France which remains completely unspoiled. Whether you enjoy walking or cycling through the fields of sunflowers, relaxing in the pool and spa, picking the in-season fruit and vegetables from the gardens, there is something for everyone, all year round. 

Hire cars are available, for those that travel by air to explore more of the country. The nearest town is Savigne (2km away) has the local supermarket with everything you could need: a vast selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, a beautiful meat and fish counter and bakery. Civray (only 5km away), a small market town with traditional French markets being held on a Tuesdays and Fridays, with a beautiful park and restaurants.

Further afield are the towns of Poitier and Angouleme, full of beautiful French Boutiques and restaurants perfect for a day’s shopping, or traveling to La Rochelle, to enjoy the beaches and harbour and the beautiful Island of Ill de Re. The region is famous for Pineau des Charentes, a regional French aperitif, local produce and Brocantes.

Visit Cognac and discover the famous Brandy producers or head a little further South into the Bordeaux wine region. In fact, everything you could possibly hope for is available either at home or just a short distance away... 

Le Magnou was originally designed so that we could have 2 separate situations - "The House" and "The Gite" - but we have discovered that most guests prefer the privacy of sole occupancy and as a result we now only offer the whole property so that you will have exclusive use of all the facilities.
